“It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year…”
Every family has a story, so welcome to ours! A few years ago, my sister Monique affectionately nicknamed me “Markeisha Stewart because I absolutely love to entertain in the most fabulous way & decorate in our home throughout the year. Christmas however, is hands down my favorite season & favorite time to be at home enjoying our family & friends counting or blessings.
From decorating the trees inside & out of our home, to setting our dining room table with our theme for the year with personalized touches to wrapping the presents I truly enjoy it all. This year it was very important to me for us to create more experiences & explore more things during our time together than to just buy each another traditional gift. The greatest gift God has given me is the gift of my own family & I want to cherish them in every way I can during this time.
Eat, Drink, Relax & Be Merry Darlings!
This time of year is when we have the opportunity to slow down & play catch up on what all “unfolded” throughout the year for ourselves & connect more with our loved ones. Take some time & relax to process It all, celebrate what all you experienced while reflecting over what all God has done for us indeed. Whether it’s planning to get fabulous for a holiday party, watching your favorite holiday movie or enjoying a nice bottle of wine & curling up with a good book…relax & enjoy every moment in your own special way that brings you JOY.
Want To Know What Are Some Of My Favorite Gift Ideas on a Budget???
I’m so glad you asked…lol!
*Pick up a beautiful journal or nice hard cover planner from your nearest home good store for $10 or less to give that special someone to discover or rediscover their own story on their journey.
*Books & inspirational bookmarks make wonderful gifts as well! Rather it’s an inspirational read, a cook book, coloring book or hot & steamy read- there’s so many options you can find for $5 or less many times. For either item above, I would also suggest hand -writing a genuine personal note to the person receiving the gift from you. Trust me on this, they will treasure your message forever!
*Throw a vision board party with your friends & family or purchase a ticket to attend a vision board event for yourself or special person. I gifted one of my favorite cousin’s to this last year, it was an experience we shared together that neither of us will ever forget.
*Plan a day getaway to explore where you live…maybe there’s a restaurant, art gallery or museum you’ve always wanted to visit. My girls & I are planning a day in downtown Chicago & taking the train which I seldomly ever do.
*Coffee dates matter beloveds…take an hour to catch up with an old friend & treat them or yourself to a local shop in town you all will enjoy.
*Stay home & party like a Rockstar in your PJ’s! There’s nothing better than turning your kitchen floor into a dance floor. Put on your favorite Christmas songs & get ready to sing & dance your hearts out! Need I say more…
*Last, but most definitely not least…create a photo album! Look through your photo album on your phone or on Facebook. Upload your favorite pictures of family & friends captured thoughout the year to the Walgreens nearest you & print your hearts out Darlings! There is always a weekly coupon for 9 cents or less per print. Grab a beautiful photo album from the Dollar Tree, T.J. Maxx, etc, for less than $10 & create the most thoughtful gift ever. FYI…this is a gift that I give myself annually & one of my favorite end of the year projects I enjoy alone.
