2009 - Present - My City, My Biz
is one of Milwaukee's longest-running collaborative business and community initiatives. Founded in 2009 by civic innovator Dr. Shontina Gladney, the platform has evolved from a neighborhood youth incubator into a sprawling economic ecosystem.
Over nearly two decades, the initiative has driven foot traffic, capital, and resources directly to emerging micro-businesses. By rotating massive multi-vendor expos across major regional venues—and ultimately establishing a permanent co-working department store model—My City, My Biz has transformed how localized commerce thrives in Southeastern Wisconsin.
The Collective At Bayshore
April 2022 - December 2024
The Collective At Bayshore Shopping Center (5700 N. Bayshore Dr., Glendale, WI), pioneering a "cooperative department store" model where 35 local makers pooled resources to anchor mainstream commercial spaces.
